Overview

Who is ALNO?

ALNO is an Indonesian singer, songwriter, and music creator whose work lives somewhere between vulnerability, attitude, rhythm, and reinvention.

With a sound rooted in alternative R&B, alternative pop, hip-hop, and electronic textures, ALNO turns personal experiences into songs that feel intimate without losing their edge. His music often moves between tenderness and mischief — sometimes reflective, sometimes playful, sometimes unapologetically blunt.

Rather than chasing a single genre, ALNO treats music as a place to experiment. A song can be soft and sarcastic. A heartbreak can dance. A confession can have a beat.

Born in Kerinci, Jambi, and now based in Jakarta, ALNO carries both worlds into his creative identity: the intimacy of where he comes from and the restless energy of the city. His work explores identity, relationships, self-worth, desire, growing up, and the strange little contradictions of being human.

ALNO doesn't try to sound perfect. He tries to sound honest.

The Sound

Sonic DNA

ALNO's music sits in the space between alternative R&B, pop, hip-hop, and electronic music. His songwriting is conversational and emotionally direct, often mixing Indonesian and English naturally rather than forcing either language into a formula.

Alternative R&B
For intimacy, atmosphere, and emotional detail.
Alternative Pop
For memorable melodies and accessible songwriting.
Hip-Hop
For rhythm, attitude, wordplay, and personality.
Electronic
For texture, movement, and experimentation.
Indonesian Roots
For cultural references, local rhythms, language, and musical elements that can appear unexpectedly inside contemporary production.

ALNO is interested in the contrast between the familiar and the strange — taking something personal or local and placing it inside a sound that feels current.

Story

From Kerinci to Jakarta

ALNO's creative identity began far from the center of Indonesia's music industry. Coming from Kerinci, Jambi, he grew into an artist shaped by two very different environments: the cultural intimacy of home and the constant movement of Jakarta. That contrast became part of the music.

There is something deeply personal in ALNO's songwriting — but it is rarely presented as a simple diary entry. Instead, his stories become characters, conversations, jokes, arguments, late-night thoughts, and melodies.

His music doesn't always ask for sympathy. Sometimes it simply says: "This happened. This is how I felt. Now let's dance about it."

That balance between emotional honesty and playful delivery has become an important part of ALNO's artistic identity.

Identity

More than a genre

ALNO sees music as a form of self-documentation — the uncomfortable middle ground between who people expect us to be and who we actually become.

Love
The beautiful parts, the stupid parts, and everything in between.
Identity
The versions of ourselves we build, hide, question, and eventually accept.
Relationships
Attachment, distance, mistakes, desire, resentment, and reconciliation.
Home
Where we come from and what happens when we grow beyond it.
Self-worth
Learning when to stay, when to leave, and when to finally choose yourself.

But ALNO doesn't believe every serious feeling needs a serious song. Sometimes the best way to tell the truth is to make it catchy.

Right now

ALNO in 2026

After establishing his catalog through alternative R&B, neo-soul, pop, and experimental releases, ALNO continues moving toward a more direct, playful, and culturally rooted sound.

Sharper songwriting
Less explaining. More saying exactly what needs to be said.
Stronger character
Songs are becoming less afraid to be funny, cheeky, dramatic, or messy.
Local identity
Indonesian language, regional references, and cultural textures remain part of the creative vocabulary.
Short-form energy
Hooks are designed to live beyond the song — built for replay, performance, and conversation.
Genre freedom
R&B can meet hip-hop. Hip-hop can meet dangdut. Traditional elements can sit beside modern production.

↳ For ALNO, the point isn't to choose one box. It's to build his own.

My Bad

ALNO — 2026

"My Bad" is ALNO at his most unapologetically playful. Built around the familiar phrase "my bad," the song turns accountability, attitude, and relationship tension into something catchy and mischievous.

Rather than treating an apology as purely sentimental, ALNO plays with the ambiguity behind the words: was it really an apology? Or was it just another way of saying, "Yeah, I did it. So what?"

The track continues ALNO's movement toward a more conversational and personality-driven approach to songwriting — where the lyric feels less like a formal statement and more like something someone would actually say.

Because sometimes we know exactly what we did. We just don't know if we're sorry.

Abang-abangan

ALNO — 2026

Released in August 2026, "Abang-abangan" continues ALNO's exploration of playful Indonesian songwriting and relationship dynamics. The title itself carries a distinctly Indonesian flavor — familiar, cheeky, and immediately conversational.

Rather than dressing the story in overly complicated language, ALNO leans into the everyday way people actually flirt, tease, misunderstand, and fall for one another. The result is a song that feels deliberately close to everyday conversation while remaining unmistakably pop.

It sounds like something you might say as a joke — until you realize you actually mean it.
